Firefighter Statue for New York City

On behalf of Matthews International Corporation's employees worldwide, the company donated a poignant 6' x 6' bronze firefighter statue and two 4' x 8' bronze feature plaques to the City of New York in remembrance of the heroes who gave their lives in rescue operations at the World Trade Center. These memorials, situated at 44th Street and 8th Avenue in midtown Manhattan until a permanent location is selected, provide a tangible site for those grieving to find solace, and a place for flowers, notes and various other tributes to victims. Matthews' employees are proud and honored to be able tocontribute to the healing process of New York City and a nation greatly impacted by the September 11 tragedy.
